SOCIOL 2282: Criminal Justice and Social Inequality
Semester: Spring
Offered: 2024
The criminal justice system and social inequality are deeply intertwined in the U.S. This seminar focuses on theory and research examining forms of this connection, with a focus on life-course divergences in times of social change; race, class, and neighborhood inequalities; and the role of crime. Students will conduct and present original research on one of the seminar’s themes. The opportunity to work with data from an ongoing long-term study will also be made available.
